McIntosh Lodge is a beautiful little family run lodge on famous Canyon Lake. The lake is famous for high numbers of Walleyeas well as big Trophy Walleye. Even though Walleye in the 16 to 22-inch range is the most common Walleye in the lake have been caught consistently over 28 inches and in the 7 to 10-pound range. If you target Walleye there is no reason why you can't catch 30 nice Walleye in a day. Regular guests that know the lake well can do way better. John makes sure all guests are put on the hotspots that produce fish and John is always happy to go through your tackle box and show you what works best. They have super nice lakefront housekeeping pine cabins with a beautiful main lodge for card playing and watching the big game on satellite TV. Their rates are very reasonable.
Lac Seul's Scout Lake Resort & McKenzie Bay Outpost: Scout Lake is a remote corner of Lac Seul and located at the south-west end of the lake. People who have fished Lac Seul before know these smaller back-water lakes, that are attached to Lac Seul, provide the best Walleye fishing and produce the biggest Walleyes. These lakes are the main Walleye spawning grounds for Lac Seul. It has been speculated that as the Musky population grows the Walleyes are migrating to these satellite lakes and bays to protect themselves as Musky like to stay close to big open water. Not only can you expect the legendary numbers of Walleyes that Lac Seul is famous for; you can expect to catch trophies over 30 inches. Fishing for trophy Northern Pike is excellent everywhere and a boat ride through the narrows into the main body of Lac Seul will get you into some monster Musky. The resort has clean and cozy housekeeping cabins as well as remote outpost camp on McKenzie Bay, which sleeps eight people.
Indian Lake Lodge is located on the famous Indian Chain of Lakes, which is north of Vermilion Bay, Ontario and not far from the Manitoba border. From their lodge you have nine lakes to boat through and all are stuffed with Walleye. There are tons of Walleyes in the 2 to 4 pound range with a good number of trophies in the 10 to 13 pound range being caught and released every year. If targeting Walleye you should catch a few in the 5 to 7 pound range during the course of the week. Numbers are high and the fishing is fantastic. Rugby Lake Lodge is located north-west of Dryden or North-east of Vermilion Bay, Ontario. They are a small family-owned fishing camp on Rugby Lake, which is one of the hottest Trophy Walleye lakes in the region. Their numbers for catching Walleye are not a high as a fly-in camps father north but the average size Walleye will be bigger and you also have a chance of catching one of their legendary Mega Walleyes that the lake is famous for. Depending on the weather guests can expect to catch 30 to 60 Walleyes in a day with the average being 3 pounds with lots of 4 and 5 pounders and a couple 6 pounders. This lake has an unusually high number of trophy Walleyes over 10 pounds. You have a great chance at catching your dream Walleye. The trophies are there because of Rugby Lake Lodge's conservation policy on letting all Walleyes over 18 inches go. They have clean comfortable lakefront housekeeping accommodations. They have additional fishing for Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Perch, Crappie with boat caches on a Lake Trout lake. They are open all winter for ice fishing.
